Executive Summary – The Okalahoma House just passed a bill called “The Freedom of Healthcare Choice Act”. This legislation is similar to that passed by Arizona which allows people to opt out of any Federal healthcare plan. It will allow citizens to maintain private health care. It will also allow the health care provide to do business without any penalties or fines.
Other States Passing Similar Laws – Arizona, Maryland, Idaho, Missouri, Virginia and Texas. These states maintain that such a bill goes far beyond the powers ever given to the Federal government. The reference is the tenth Amendment which reads as follows:
“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
The Federal Government – They do not like the states infringing on their power grabbing. They tend to ignore the states rarely ever speaking to their legislative efforts and laws passed. They label such actions as white red neck racists, dissidents and people who are a threat to the country as in “terrorist”. Anyone who opposes them is a bad guy now. They ignore the document that empowers them in the first place. States rights movements at the every least will draw a line in the sand and then we will see just how totalitarian the fed wishes to show itself. Basically it is a lose lose proposition for the fed so they try to ignore it.
