You can trade using a personal account (no USA or Canada), corporate account or through a foundation account. USA passport holders can not have a personal account, it must be a corporate or foundation account.
From the time completed documents are submitted, your account can generally be opened in less than one week. Documents required are a notarized copy of a passport, a reference letter from an attorney or accountant or a general business and a reference letter from a recognized bank.
Minimum balances are $15,000 to $50,000 depending on the brokerage firm.
What is done is an account is opened with a Panama Savings and Loan. The savings and loan is in Panama and has Panama Bank Secrecy, online banking in English including ability to send international wire transfers. They also have English speakers on staff. The savings and loan opens a sub account for you with a Substantial Stock Brokerage Firm, there are several to chose from located in different countries. The Panama Savings and Loan has the relationship with the stock brokerage company, not our law firm. You are trading through a sub account of the savings and loan. You have a trust escrow agreement with the savings and loan. The funds are not on deposit with the savings and loan, they are placed in the stock brokerage company under the trust escrow agreement in a sub account of the savings and loan with the brokerage company. You would have a copy of this trust escrow agreement and the savings and loan would have a copy. The brokerage firm would not have a copy of this agreement. You can wire funds directly into the account the savings and loan has with the stock brokerage firm. You would operate the stock brokerage account online using their trading platform. This allows you to anonymously have a trading account with a major Brokerage House all covered with Panama Bank Secrecy. If you can find a better deal than this – take it!
