The next step will be collecting ID documents and if required utility bills and reference letters. Each country has different requirements.

After the ID documents etc are received we will send you wiring instructions or Western Union payment instructions.

We will begin forming corporations, trusts etc after the payment has been received. International Trust Agreement can be accomplished without forming a corporation using one of our bank accounts.

The next step is opening the bank account. You will be signing bank forms and bank signature cards.

When the bank account is open and funded the bank will enable online banking and supply any ordered debit cards or Visa, MasterCard cards.

Below follows some notes about what is required for various products and services. Panama has the most demanding due diligence requirements.

Warning on Bank Reference Letters - You should be aware of the fact that getting a bank reference letter can be an indication to your home country that you intend to open an offshore bank account. Some countries have their banks report this as a suspicious transaction since banks in the respective country do not require such a letter normally; just foreign offshore banks want this letter. For this reason many banks will not provide such a reference letter. The banks are avoiding the paperwork and queries that may follow. The banks view this as a waste of their time and money. They also do not want to see their deposits go out the door to another country. Panama and Saint Vincent are the only countries we work in that require a bank reference letter for the signatories on the bank account.

International Trust Agreement Banking - Time frame for this account opening is 24 hours from receipt of funds and ID documents. ID documents required are a notarized copy of a passport and driver license. These can be sent as scans attached to an email sent to staff@panamalegal.org

The fee for this is $2000. There is an additional 5% fee deducted from all incoming funds. Nothing deducted from outgoing funds by the law firm.

Upon receipt of the ID documents we sent you the wiring instructions for the fee. Western Union can also be used for greater privacy. The country used for the bank can be Guatemala, Ecuador, Costa Rica or Mexico. Same setup fee. All will provide the required degree of security and privacy using International Trust Agreement Banking. The banks and the jurisdictions have been selected very carefully.

A corporation can be added for an additional fee of $6000. These are anonymous bearer share corporations formed in the same country as the bank. You do get a general power of attorney for the corporation made out in blank or to whomever you wish it to be made out to. The corporation does come with a virtual office complete with phone and mail forwarding. A corporation is not mandatory, see above. Time frame to get the corporate bank account open with the law firm as the beneficiary owner and signatory is approximately 2-3 additional days using a shelf corporation. A shelf corporation is an unused corporation but you do not get to choose the name. Forming a corporation with a specific name can take 4-8 weeks, depending on the country but the bank account can be opened while the corporation is in formation. If one uses a corporation from a different country the corporation must register in the country for the bank and this requires 4-6 weeks plus registration fees. Best to use a corporation from same country as the bank.

Anguilla Corporation and Bank Account in Belize – For this we need a notarized copy of your passport and driver license. We also need a utility bill and a letter of reference from a lawyer or banker. Bank reference letter not mandatory. Time frame for formation of corporation and opening of bank account is 2-3 weeks.

Saint Vincent & Grenadines Corporate Banking – For this we need a notarized copy of a passport and driver license. A bank reference letter and a utility bill are also required. Time frame is 2-3 weeks from time we receive funds and documents.

Panama Corporation and Bank Account – For this we need a copy of passport and driver license notarized and apostilled. We need a bank reference letter and a business reference letter. Time frame is 2-3 weeks from time of receipt of documents and funds.

International Asset Protection Trust – For this we need a notarized copy of driver license and passport sent as scans in an email. The time frame is 2-3 days.
