Offshore Personal Bank Account in Panama, Belize or St. Vincent

Personal Bank Accounts in Offshore Tax Havens – We can assist you with a personal bank account opening. Please read disclaimer below. The bank accounts will have online banking including the ability to send outgoing wire transfers. You will be able to get a Visa card and an ATM card as well. You can have checking and saving accounts. You can have accounts in USD, EURO, CHF, CAD, JPY and GBP. Panama banks only allow for accounts in USD and EURO. It takes about 5-10 working days to have a personal bank account opened from the time we receive payment and documents. You will be the only signature on the bank account. The jurisdictions and banks we use all have bank secrecy with serious penalties for any violations. The jurisdictions we use do not impose any taxation on offshore-derived income (offshore to the country where the bank is). There is not even a need to file any tax returns if all the income is offshore to the jurisdiction where the bank is located.

Disclaimer – Personal Bank Accounts provide an absolute minimum degree of bank secrecy. When sending or receiving wire transfers the name of the bank account appears in the wires. In the case of a personal bank account the name of the account is your name. This means everyone knows you have a personal bank account, the name of the bank, and the account number. By everyone I mean all the central banks involved, the receiving and sending banks and various governments who monitor wire transfers. The banks cannot release any information due to bank secrecy but a lot of the information has already been disclosed in the wires sent or received. Foreign civil judgments would not be able to be levied against your bank account. Foreign governments would not be able to lien or levy your bank account.

We want to make absolutely sure that you understand there is almost no bank secrecy with a personal account. When opening a bank account using an anonymous Panama Bearer Share Corporation or a Private Interest Foundation your privacy is preserved. All wires show the name of the account, which is the name of the corporation or foundation. Your name never appears in any wire even though you are the signatory on the bank account. Only the bank knows who the signatory is and bank secrecy laws cover that. The name of the owners of the corporation or foundation are not in any public registry or database and in fact the government of Panama does not even know who owns the corporation or foundation. Think of it as similar to the old Swiss numbered bank accounts but instead of a number, we are using the name of an anonymous corporation. A bank account using an anonymous corporation or foundation in Panama is just $1795.00. In our opinion the added privacy is well worth the additional expense but the choice is yours.

Bank Account Opening Requirements

Letter of Reference from a Bank - Can be made out "To whom it May Concern". Could also be made out to us- Panama Legal, S.A. or even made out to yourself. You could tell the bank that you have retained a law firm to handle some international matters for you and they need the bank reference as part of their know your client due diligence. Reference letter are good for 90 days only from date of issuance. Without a bank reference letter we cannot get you a bank account anywhere. A sample letter would look like this on official bank letterhead:

Mr. John Doe has had an account here since June of 2003. The account number is as follows: 123456. The account is in good standing or is currently open.

If the Bank is resisting writing such a letter ask the bank to write you a letter addressed to you about the status of your account. It should be on a bank letterhead signed by a bank employee. It should state type of account, account number, date opened, and status of account currently such as – open, current etc. along with current balance and average balance. Yes I know in this format we are asking for balances but you can blank them out with a marker pen.

Business Reference Letter - Business reference letter from a business that knows you such as a stockbroker, real estate broker, travel agency, insurance broker, dental clinic, medical clinic, an attorney or an accountant on a letterhead. Should say they know you and for how long, have done business with you, you are a good person and they recommend you. It can come from any business with a letterhead. Reference letter are good for 90 days only from date of issuance.

Passport - A copy is required. If you do not have a passport we cannot get you a bank account anywhere. Please have the picture page and the facing page photocopied and notarized. Then it needs to be apostilled (only for banking in Panama, other jurisdictions just require notarization of the copy). If there is no apostille then the notarized document needs to be sent to the nearest Panama Consulate or Embassy for them to certify the notary. This costs $30 and they do this service fast and are quite polite and cooperative. Our website has a section on apostilles and a list of where to find them around the world. An apostille is a government employee who certifies the notary as being a real notary. You can generally mail the document in to them with a self-addressed envelope and have it done and in your hands in a few days. You can also walk in if you are near their offices. Banks in Belize and Saint Vincent only require a notary on the copy of the passport and driver license, no apostille or embassy certification.

Driver License - Please also have a copy of a driver’s license or other government issued photo id notarized and apostilled as well. Again apostille or embassy certification only required for Panama.

Utility Bill – Panama banks to not require a copy of a utility bill. Banks in Belize and Saint Vincent require utility bills to establish address.

Fees - the fee our law firm charges to do the bank account introduction and opening is $695.00 We accept bank wires, cash in person and western union for those needing more privacy.

If getting a document apostilled is inconvenient or you are in a country like Canada which does not have apostilles then you simply take or send the document with the notary stamp and signature to your nearest Panama Consulate or Panama Embassy and they will authenticate the notarized document for you.
