Executive Summary – it is not over until it is over but Obama is trying to ram a junk healthcare plan down the throats of the working Americans. Under his plan all healthcare would be the same. Interpret this to mean that those with good private healthcare will be downgraded. Those who do not work and get free government healthcare will be upgraded. So some quality will drop and some will get better.
His New Plan Shortcomings – The new plans will be like HMO’s. You will have much trouble getting to see a specialist. There will be penalties for the family doctor doing too many referrals to specialists. You may never get to see a specialist. The wait for surgery could be long. Office visits could mean waits of a few hours. Productivity would be suffering due to long waits. Approved drugs can be limited driven by cost, not effectiveness.
Your Insurance – You will have to enroll in Obama healthcare. If you do not you will be hit on your income tax for penalties equal to the annual cost of the plan. You will have to prove the healthcare coverage when filing tax returns. You will not be able to go out and buy a good expensive executive plan in place of the Obama one.
You could buy both plans, or pay for good services out of pocket yourself but you would still need his plan. I guess if you are unemployed or on public assistance, disability etc they will give you the healthcare coverage. I guess illegal immigrants will just keep going to the emergency rooms free healthcare coverage. What did you expect comrade?
