Executive Summary – In a not surprising move by US District Judge Susan Bolton the teeth of the Arizona immigration law were removed. In her temporary injunction, Bolton blocked a section that required officers to check a person's immigration status while enforcing other laws. She also barred enforcement of parts requiring immigrants to carry their papers and banned illegal immigrants from soliciting employment in public places – a move aimed at day laborers that congregate in large numbers in parking lots across Arizona. The judge also blocked officers from making warrantless arrests of suspected illegal immigrants. Basically the judge stopped the taking of effect of the good parts of the Arizona law. The ruling was a temporary restraining order only and there will still be a trial but do not expect one soon.
Appeal – Governor Jan Brewer says she plans to go to the Supreme Court appealing this ruling.
Other States – Eighteen other states say they will still push through their own versions of the Arizona Law. I expect more Federal Court Blockages.
Analysis – The feds will never allow the states to get their power back. The fed usurps the rights of the states big time and will not stop. If the states try to secede the fed will say illegal and probably repeat what Lincoln did. They will rule against Arizona and the other states laws. The same thing will probably happen with the gun laws some states passed as well as the states fighting against the health care laws. The fed courts will never take power away from the fed. The term is conflict of interest. The fed wants the people to believe resistance is futile.
