Executive Summary – In New York State almost 10% of the residents do not have any sort of a bank account. 20% of all households earning $30,000 per year or less did not have any sort of bank account. The reasons for this are the people are broke. They rely more on pawnshops, payday lenders, check cashing businesses etc.
The other factor the media is concealing is that the Americans are being chased by bill collectors, taxing authorities etc. If they put money in the bank they can have their funds confiscated by lawyers, government agencies etc. What a mess and it is getting worse.
